Western Seed is a seed company which began its operation in Kenya in 1992. Western seed is a key player in the seed industry of 58 other seed companies.

The company is based in Kitale town with huge tracks of farms for research all over the country. The company is engaged in producing high quality seeds tolerant to diseases, drought and superb maturity attributes in all agro-ecological zones.
Western seed Company is founded on the passion and zeal of bringing technology to the farmer through innovation, quality seeds and exemplary service delivery to the farmer.

Our products

Western Seed Company produces its seed varieties in Kenya. The company has full season high altitude, medium and low altitude varieties planted through out the season.

All our varieties are resistant to Maize Streak Virus (MSV), Grey leaf spot (GLS) and drought. WH502 is resistant to striga weed.

• High altitude varieties: WH 605, WH 602 and WH 699.

• Medium altitude varieties: WH 505, WH 502, WH 403 and WH 504.

• Low Mid Altitude: WH105 and WH302

• Low land Dry Altitude: WH 002
